I just got back from a trip to So. Cal....paddling with a friend that I do some adventure trips with. He knows another paddler in the LA area and brought us out into the Pacific...my first time in big water that isn't called "Gulf" - I got SEA SICK!!! I still can't get over how embarassing that was. I'm used to big chop, but not swells I guess...of course, we had also gone to a wedding the night before, did a bit of drinking and dancing and didn't eat breakfast the next day. (Dumb. I know!) Anyway, about 2 miles out I had to turn back. So disappointed with myself. Going to stick to the swamps for a bit and if I imbibe the night before for any reason...NO big water! -suncat
